Attention Cross Stitchers! Beyond the X's Classes

A couple of years ago we did “A Wicked Patch” by Cross Eyed Cricket chart in a class
we called “Beyond the Xs”. 

The premise was to use fibers you wouldn’t normally think about for cross stitch and some sampler stitches to change up the design. We used everything from floss to overdyed metallics, from fuzzy fibers to silk and from wool to a silk & metallic blend.  It was a lot of fun and a very cute stitch when it was done!

I’ve seen some charts (pictured on the right) that would work well with these techniques, but I’d like your opinions. Are you interested in classes of this nature? Can you think of any charts you might like to try this on? (It works best where there are large areas, like the pumpkins.)

This 4x4" Counted Canvas piece is part of an ongoing series that I like to call the "From & To Series".  We'll be taking the original chart and turning it into something different, because I just can't leave things alone!
